The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 were placed on the statute book on 18 May 2022, and came into force on 23 January 2023. The regulations implement the majority of those recommendations made to the government in the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 1 report, which require a change in the law.

1.2. Responsible Persons, including both building owners (for example, freeholders) and other persons having control of the premises (for example, managing agents) were required to comply with the regulations from 23 January 2023. Any breach of the regulations is a criminal offence if the breach places one or more relevant persons (for example, residents, staff or visitors) at risk of death or serious injury in the event of a fire.

Fire door assemblies play a vital role in your building’s passive fire protection strategy and are mandatory in commercial, multi-occupied, and residential structures. These critical components ensure effective protection in the event of a fire by securing escape routes, such as stairways and corridors, providing relative safety zones, and separating various fire hazards within a building.

To safeguard lives, it is imperative that fire doors function correctly. Building owners, managers, landlords, and occupants can all perform simple checks to assess their effectiveness. Fire-resistant doors serve as the ultimate barrier, preventing fire and smoke from spreading between rooms or within high-risk areas.

Regular inspection, maintenance, and necessary upgrades are essential for all fire doors, just like any other fire safety system. Unfortunately, fire doors are often overlooked, leading to many failing in fire risk assessments due to age, condition, or excessive use.

Let us help you ensure you’re giving your fire doors the care they need. We offer surveys, installation, upgrades and door management. In order to make our services as accessible as possible, we offer a free quotation, as well as a price match guarantee to provide you with more value than anyone else in the industry.

We work throughout the Greater London area, with commercial and residential clients of any sector and any industry. All of our solutions are designed to be suited to your environments, giving you the bespoke fire protection you can rely on in the event of an emergency.

Whatever fire safety measures we recommend to you, we will ensure that it meets the UK regulatory code of practice for the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of fire safety equipment for your specific premises.

All fire doors are fire rated. Some are FD30 (providing 30-minute protection), FD60 (60-minute protection) or higher.

A fire door ensures that should a fire break out, it can be contained in a “compartment”. This keeps the fire and smoke trapped for a defined period, allowing time for people to escape and will enable the fire to be extinguished with minimal smoke spread within the building.

Building owners, employers, and operators have a responsibility under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (FSO) to ensure that employees and users of their properties are safe.

We can supply, install and maintain fire doors within all types of premises, from hospital and schools to care for homes and offices
